After 13 years as a chef in the military – with a career highlight of cooking for Her Majesty The Queen – Danny Webster stepped into the civilian catering world in 2018. His first of many pop-up events was a Christmas market in Watlington, he knew instantly that this was the start of something special.
In 2021, Danny left the military and fully embraced his creative spark and determination. This led to years of weddings, home cocktail classes, and even dine- to- door boxes during the Covid lockdowns, followed by the opening of a tea room at Sulgrave Manor.
September 2022 marked another bold step as Danny jumped head-first into the coffee shop world with the opening of The Old Firestation in Brackley. It was here that he discovered a true passion for baking. When an exciting opportunity arose in the Market Square, he couldn’t say no – and The Old Bakery was born.
Just six months later, The Old Bakery Towcester opened its doors. Who knows where this journey will take us next? For now, we’re riding the wave – and loving every moment of it.
What began as a one-man operation with no staff has grown into a team of over 35 incredible members. The businesses simply wouldn’t be what they are today without the passion, talent, and dedication of the people behind them.

At the heart of everything we do is a genuine passion for creating exceptional food, cakes & coffee. From the very beginning, our aim has been simple: to serve the best we possibly can, consistently.
As the business has grown, so too have our menus and the community around us. What hasn’t changed are the values we started with. We believe great food takes time, care, and attention, which is why our cakes, pastries, breakfasts, and lunches are made by hand daily.
Our coffee shops are more than just places to eat and drink; they’re places to gather, connect, and feel at home. It’s the combination of consistency & craft that makes the businesses what they are today.
